Inhibition profiles and molecular docking studies of antiproliferative agents against aldose reductase enzyme

Inhibition of Aldose Reductase (AR) is very important in terms preventing many diabetic complications such as retinopathy, neuropathy, and cataract. In this study, inhibition effects some antiproliferative agents, which have been shown to biological activities besides their anticancer properties, on the AR enzyme, a diabetes-related were investigated. Biochanin A compound with an IC50 value 4.44 µM showed best effect. values Rhein, Betulinic acid, Sanguinarine chloride, Budesonide, Plumbagin 2-Methoxyestradiol compounds calculated 7.87 µM, 7.45 19.25 21.00 28.87 38.5 respectively. Molecular docking studies also conducted elucidate mechanisms whose vitro investigated, free binding energies enzyme-inhibitor complexes Mechanics Generalized Born Surface Area (MM-GBSA). Both experimental data computer-aided calculations revealed that studied are drug candidates aimed at complications.
